When I started doing affiliate marketing a few years back, my primary focus was on writing a bunch of articles that would rank on the first page of Google. Sad to say, I wasn’t too concerned about search engine optimization (SEO) because the algorithms were not as complicated back then as they are today.
Fast forward to now, and SEO has become an increasingly important part of my marketing strategy. Knowing which keywords to use, tracking your rankings over time, and analyzing backlinks are some of the key elements that you need to consider in order to achieve a measure of SEO success.
Using SEO tools will definitely help you streamline the SEO process. But you can expect to fork out quite a bit of money for some of the top-notch tools out there. If you are a beginner (like I once was), this could mean wasting a lot of your valuable time using free SEO tools that only give you limited access and functionality.
This is why I was quite glad when I stumbled upon SEO Powersuite. I have been using SEO Powersuite regularly for the past two years and I have found it to be such an invaluable tool, and if you’re a beginner affiliate marketer or someone who has an online business, I think you will too.
In this SEO Powersuite review, I’ll outline each of the tools that I personally use to grow my website. Also, I’ll be giving my honest opinion on the features, pros, and cons of these SEO Powersuite tools.
What is SEO PowerSuite?

The SEO Powersuite pack is a set of four tools that are designed to help you take your search engine optimization game to the next level.
I first heard about SEO Powersuite while following Matthew Woodward, a well-known SEO expert from the UK. I have been following him since 2014 and he was raving about SEO Powersuite’s comprehensive set of SEO tools, so I decided to try it out for myself.
How Does SEO Power Suite Work?
SEO Powersuite works by allowing you to track keyword positions, researching competitors backlinks, audit your website structure and content optimization, and manage link-building campaigns.
The cool thing is that you can use this SEO software for local and mobile SEO as well. I can remember back in the day, I had to do all this on Excel spreadsheets to keep track of my SEO campaigns. And you can best believe that this was a very tedious and time-consuming process.
Now that I have added SEO Powersuite to my arsenal, all I need to do is open up any one of the four programs and track the progress of my SEO campaigns with ease.
SEO Powersuite Features
The tool suite consists of four modules which are:
- Rank Tracker
- SEO Spyglass
- Link Assistant
- Website Auditor
Each of these modules has its own unique set of features that can help you with every aspect of SEO for your website, and provides seo reports that that you can use to identify shortcomings in your seo strategy. Below, I have outlined each one so you can get a better idea of what each tool offers.
Rank Tracker
Rank Tracker (RT) is a keyword research tool that helps you create effective content strategies. This is the first tool in the SEO Powersuite arsenal that I start with when writing a new article for my website.
Don’t be fooled by the name, this rank tracker tool is more than just rank tracking. With Rank Tracker, you can also do the following:
Keyword Research
As I am sure you are aware, keyword research is one of the most important aspects of any successful SEO campaign. If you get this one wrong, you can bet that you will be chasing your tail trying to rank for a keyword that doesn’t get any traffic at all.
To avoid getting this step wrong, RT has nine different research options available to you. This includes the ability to target local keywords which I think is great if you have a brick-and-mortar business in a city or town somewhere.
In using these nine keyword research methods, I have been able to analyze thousands of keywords, and filter out the ones that are relevant to the article I am writing. In addition, I can perform competitor analysis of keywords and incorporate them into the article as well.
SERP Analysis
Another great feature of SEO Powersuite Rank Tracker I like is the SERP (Search Engine Results Page) analysis. This feature allows you to look at the top 50 results for any given keyword or phrase for the niche you are writing content for. This gives you insight into what type of pages are ranking in organic search results.
In other words, you can use the SERP analysis data to gain insights into your competitors’ strategies, as well as uncover opportunities that you may not have previously thought of before. For example, I used it to help get ideas for this article.

Check Keyword Difficulty
In addition to keyword research and SERP analysis, SEO Powersuite Rank Tracker also includes a keyword difficulty checker tool that helps determine how difficult it will be for your website to rank for any given keyword or phrase.
By having this data at your fingertips, you can adjust your SEO strategy accordingly by focusing on the “low-hanging fruit” keywords that will be much easier to rank for. Also, you will have a decent amount of traffic associated with those keywords. This is especially key if you have a new website.
Find Keyword Gaps Between Your Competitors
Finally, the keyword gap finder tool in Rank Tracker helps uncover potential gaps between what keywords and phrases competitors are targeting versus what terms you’re already optimizing for. Armed with this information, you can capitalize on those gaps and potentially expand your reach even further than before.
Rank Tracking
I’ve mentioned rank tracking before, but allow me to expand on this SEO tool a little more. The rank tracking features in SEO Power Suite allow you to track your website’s performance on search engines over time. I have found this feature especially useful for tracking the progress of keywords across my entire site.
I can see how much traffic I am getting as well as see which keywords have had a positive impact on my rankings, and the ones have had a negative effect. Having this data available to me allows me to better optimize my articles for better results.
SEO Spyglass
After finding suitable keywords for my SEO campaign, I fire up Spyglass. This tool alone is worth its weight in gold. With SEO Spyglass, you can do the following:
- Manage your link profile
- Spy on your competitors and steal their backlinks
- Identify harmful backlinks
Manage your link profile
Spyglass allows you to easily see where your website is linked from and how many backlinks are pointing to it. Before I started using this tool, I was content with having any backlink because I thought it was passing on that “link juice”.
But not all links are good, and if you don’t pay attention, you will find your site getting penalized for having too many spammy links from low-authority websites. You certainly want to avoid that, especially now.
SEO Spyglass helps you identify authority sites linking to yours so that you can build relationships with them for mutual benefit. With this feature, you can determine which sites are driving traffic to yours and which ones are not worth your time or effort.
Spy on your competitors and steal their backlinks
SEO Spyglass is also an invaluable resource when it comes to spying out your competitors’ link building secrets. With its “Competitor Link Analysis” feature, you can easily see which websites are linking back to them and get detailed information about each one.
By seeing who is linking back to your competition, you can literally reach out to the webmasters or content managers of those sites and ask for link back to your site. This especially beneficial if that site is linking to several of your competitors because in their eyes you will be viewed as part of a knowledge hub, making it easier for you to acquire a backlink.
Identify harmful backlinks
No matter how careful we are when building our backlink profile, there’s always a chance that some of them might be doing more harm than good. By using SEO Spyglass backlink API, you can quickly identify these potentially dangerous links before they cause too much damage as well as disavow them. This saves you valuable time and energy while protecting our website’s reputation online.
What do the Experts Say

LinkAssistant
Now that I know who’s linking to my competitors, next, I load up SEO Powersuite LinkAssistant.
Link Assistant is an automated link building tool that helps you quickly find potential link partners and manage existing ones.
With this tool you can do the following:
Find potential link partners
LinkAssistant helps you find potential link partners with several different link building methods which include:
- Guest posting opportunities
- Online reviews
- Blog commenting
- Competitor top-ranking pages
- Similar websites
- Competitor Backlink gap
- Competitor new backlinks
These different methods allow you to quickly identify websites that you could potentially build relationships with for mutual benefit. Not only will you be able to get some valuable backlinks from these sites but in most cases, you can also expect some extra traffic from them.
Email outreach
Once you have identified potential link partners, LinkAssistant makes it easy for you to contact them with its built-in email outreach feature.
You can use pre-written templates or create your own custom message and send them out in bulk or individually; whatever works best for your needs.
Not only does this save time and effort, but it also ensures that all of your messages are written in a professional manner that reflects positively on your brand.

Manage contacts
LinkAssistant allows you to keep track of all of the contacts you make through its comprehensive contact management system. You can store contact information such as name, address, phone number, website URL, and more so that it’s easily accessible when needed.
This is especially helpful for keeping track of follow-up emails or calls after an initial outreach has been made. However, I would encourage you to resist the urge of using the contact info that the program spits out.
Instead, do your due diligence in finding the best possible way to make contact with webmasters. By doing so, you stand a better chance of establishing a successful relationship that could lead to quality backlinks and increased traffic.
Analyze Backlinks
The last piece of the puzzle is analyzing your backlinks. LinkAssistant provides detailed reports about your backlinks so that you always know what’s going on with them at all times. You can see how many backlinks each website has pointed towards yours and check up on their status (active/inactive) so that any static links can be removed quickly if needed.
Additionally, you can find out the popularity of your content by the number of social media likes and shares it’s receiving. This way, you can get an idea of how effective your content promotion campaigns are and make changes as necessary.
As you can see, you have a little bit of redundancy with this tool and SEO Spyglass. To me, that’s a good thing because it allows you to get a deeper insight into your link building strategy. Using these two tools together is like having a cheat code for SEO success.
Website Auditor
Lastly, I run an audit of my article to address any on-page issues that might be affecting my rankings. Website Auditor is a powerful tool for analyzing your website and optimizing it for the best possible results.
Using this tool I can quickly do the following:
Analyze my website structure
The Website Auditor seo tool helps me analyze my website structure by providing a comprehensive list of website pages with detailed stats, such as page titles, meta descriptions, headings, alt tags, etc.
This allows me to quickly identify any areas that my site is lacking in terms of SEO optimization. It also makes it easy to fix any issues that may be preventing my site from ranking highly on search engines.

Generate XML sitemaps
Another great feature offered by SEO Powersuite Website Auditor is the ability to generate XML sitemaps. These are files that provide search engines with information about the structure of your website and all its pages. This helps search engines crawl and index your pages more efficiently, which in turn can improve your rankings over time.
Optimize my website content
SEO Powersuite Website Auditor also helps me optimize my website content by providing a detailed analysis of each page’s content quality.
The program’s seo spider crawls my page and evaluates the words used in the titles and meta descriptions against those found in the actual content of each page.
Then the built-in content editor suggests ways to improve my articles for better visibility on search engines. In addition, it offers suggestions for optimizing images and videos as well as overall content structure to ensure everything meets best practices for optimal user experience.
Build keywords maps
Finally, SEO Powersuite website audit tool helps me build keyword maps to ensure that the keywords used in my titles and meta descriptions accurately reflect what the page is actually about.
This allows search engine crawlers to better understand what each page is about so they can serve it up when people make relevant searches.
SEO Powersuite Pro and Cons
As with many things, there is always good and bad. The SEO Powersuite software is no exception.
Pros:
Comprehensive Suite
The biggest advantage to using SEO Powersuite is that it offers a comprehensive suite of tools that can be used to optimize your website or blog. From keyword research to backlink building, SEO Powersuite is very versatile in its capabilities.
Easy-to-Use Interface
Another great thing about SEO Powersuite is that it has an easy-to-use interface. Even if you’re new to the world of search engine optimization, the user interface is intuitive and easy to understand.
Low Price Point
Last but not least, the SEO Powersuite price for this software is quite low compared to SemRush and Ahrefs.
With its low cost and high value, it’s definitely worth considering if you’re looking for a comprehensive toolkit for optimizing your website or blog.
If you are not totally sure, you can use the free version of the software to try out before committing your hard earned dollars.
Cons:
Limited Cloud Functionality
One of the downsides that I have come to learn about this software is that it has limited cloud functionality. Meaning, you can utilize it as a standalone program on your computer, but you won’t be able to sync it across multiple devices.
The only cloud-based functionality you have available to you is saving your project file to the cloud. I guess that is good for backing up data, but not much else. I typically save my project files to an external drive, so I don’t worry about losing progress.
No Mobile App
Another downside is that there isn’t an official mobile app for SEO Powersuite. There are a few third-party apps that offer similar features, but none of them have the same robustness as the desktop version.
Is There a Seo Powersuite Alternative?
Previously I noted SemRush and Ahrefs as two alternatives to SEO Powersuite. However, there are a few other options out there worth considering as well. These include:
• Moz Pro
• SpyFu
• Ubersuggest
Each of these has its own unique strengths and weaknesses and can be used for different purposes, so it’s important to research each one before making a decision.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I think SEO Powersuite is a great tool for optimizing the on-page and off-page elements of your website. Its comprehensive suite of tools, easy-to-use design, and low price point make it an attractive option for those just getting started with SEO.
Plus, if you’re not satisfied with the software, there are several other quality alternatives that may be a better fit for you. That being said, I highly recommend giving SEO Powersuite a try.
Good luck!
